About

I have lived in the Traverse City area for 16 years and am a new “empty nester” with two children currently in college. I have personal experience with trauma, anxiety, and depression and have spent my life working on overcoming these challenges. As someone who has also been to therapy, I understand how difficult that first appointment can be! I work hard to help my clients feel comfortable in the therapy space. I work with a variety of ages and issues, as I find each interesting and unique.

I utilize a holistic approach to therapy with a variety of tools, including mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, talk therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients discover their strengths and their ability to overcome obstacles they are facing. The majority of the therapeutic process happens outside of session, so I often share resources for clients to explore and reflect on between sessions, including podcasts, videos, workbooks, and journals. My goal is to help you discover your strengths, learn how to reduce emotional stress, and challenge yourself.

I I find joy and inspiration in witnessing my clients facing the uncomfortable, confronting old beliefs, challenging themselves, finding peace, healing and growing.

Professional Experience

I worked in the children's foster care field for nearly 15 years in a variety of roles. I also have experience working with the runaway and homeless youth population at Pete's Place before moving into a development role at a non-profit writing grants and fundraising. I have been in private practice as a therapist for over two years, and have found it to be a rich and rewarding experience. I feel that my cumulative life experience, professional experience, and education have suited me well for this role.
